🐾This Is What Safe Looks Like

Sometimes rescue isn’t a dramatic before-and-after story.

Sometimes it looks like this.

A pile of kittens tucked together on a cat tree. Full bellies. Warm beds. Little eyes getting heavier by the minute. No worrying about where their next meal will come from or where they’ll sleep tonight.

Just kittens getting to be kittens. ❤️

When I look at this picture, I see so much more than a bunch of adorable little faces. I see vet appointments, bowls of food, loads of laundry, litter boxes, cleaning, late nights, early mornings, and a whole lot of love.

Mama Spice Rescue is still very new, and we are learning and growing every single day. Some days are exhausting. Some days are expensive. And some days I wonder how in the world we’re going to keep up with it all.

Then I walk downstairs and see this.

And suddenly, it all makes sense.

Every donation, every bag of food, every box from our wish list, every share, every encouraging comment and every person who believes in what we’re building helped create this little moment.

They are safe.

They are fed.

They are loved.

And eventually, one by one, these little faces will leave this cat tree and head off to families of their very own. That part will probably break my heart a little but that’s exactly what we’re here for.

We may not be able to change the whole world, but together, we can change one cat’s world at a time. 🐾❤️
